11.10 Finely carved “diadems”

These delicately carved curved oval headdresses or “diadems” are covered in geometric forms and variously composed gently curved lines. If they really were worn as a head decoration, which is indicated by their curvature and perforations at the end, then these selfsame ornamental patterns, so typical of the Pavlov I site, may have expressed the group identity of the wearer.
